JOB DESCRIPTION
 

Function

Develop funding proposals to support Brenau’s mission and assist with research necessary for maximizing Brenau’s knowledge of the donors to which the proposals will be presented; assist faculty and staff in identifying for the Office of External Relations their funding needs and in making application for grants as approved by ER; assist with maintaining donor relations through grant and contribution follow-up reports to foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
 

      Responsibilities:

  • Develop proposals and funding correspondence for presentation by the President and/or the Vice President for External Relations
  • Consult with Deans and members of the academic departments to identify funding needs and assist them in developing proposals to obtain funds for those needs
  • Research corporations and foundations when necessary
  • Make donor contacts as requested
  • Use Raiser’s Edge system to coordinate and track proposals
  • Assist as requested in communicating with certain major donors
  • Coordinate and write reports to donors of grants and endowed scholarships
  • Assist with planning and conducting annual activities such as the Phon-a-thon, Annual Fund, and recognition events
  • All other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS
 

  1. EducationBachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred
  2. ExperienceMust have a minimum of six years professional writing; two years grants writing experience
  3. Personal QualitiesCreative thinker, self starter
  4. Special FactorsExceptional writing skills required
