Position Summary
This position has primary responsibility for recruitment of new transfer students in the Health Science fields to the Women's College and University Undergraduate/Graduate School.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish contact with inquiries and maintain contact through the application process by the use of e-mail, telephone, visits and other appropriate activities designed to move the student to enrolled status
  • Develop and build rapport with two and four year institutions - locally and regionally - to cultivate students for various Health Science programs
  • Attend appropriate college fairs and recruiting events
  • When appropriate, coordinate dialogue between the prospective students, schools and departments, and the Office of Financial Aid
  •  Use data from previous years to establish travel plans for the assigned territory or area of responsibility
  •  Plan, coordinate, and participate in visitations and open-house activities collaboratively with the College of Health Science and the Admissions Office
  • Assist with office activities including mailings, data entry, and file maintenance
  • Evaluate application files and make recommendations for admissions
  • Assist with scheduling tours and other appointments
  • Send directions etc to those visiting campus
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge and Job Skills
  • Enrollment and/or recruitment experience preferred. Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make oneself understood to all Spanish speaking individuals.
  • Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to sell effectively, honestly, and openly
  • Must be able to relate very well to prospective students of all ages, and where appropriate to their families
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized and display a high level of dedication to the University and to the task of selling the University to the public
Basic Expectations
  • Must provide the prospective students the highest level of customer service and support while abiding by the policies of Brenau University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Nominal travel will be required for this position
  • Must arrive punctually (8:30 unless approved/assigned by supervisor)
  • Must dress professionally
  • Must use sick and vacation leave appropriately; comp time is not typically given, as this is a 40+ position.
  • Must foster an atmosphere of positive teamwork
Bachelor's degree in a field offered by the University, preferably in a human resources, business, psychology, English, or communication field
  • Must possess the ability to recognize the appropriate procedure to apply to each situation encountered.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of student records and conversations.
Environmental and Working Conditions
Normal environment found in an office and/or educational setting. Some exposure to outdoors and varying weather conditions may be required.
Physical Demands and Aptitudes
Some lifting and or carrying objects may be required. This position requires repetitive usage of arms, legs, eyes to include sitting to a significant degree.
Work Hours
40 hours per week.  Generally Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.  Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department.

Special Requirements
Brenau University will conduct criminal background checks on all persons being considered for initial employment. In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Credit checks may be performed on employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. Due to insurance requirements, employees operating university vehicles must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver's license, and good driving record. An MVR may be performed during the hiring process. All employees who operate university vehicles or who are employed in a sensitive position may be subject to post hire drug screening and random drug-screenings. All employees are subject to reasonable suspicion drug screening.
