Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field offered by the University, preferably in a human resources, business, psychology, English, or communication field

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish contact with inquiries and maintain contact through the application process by the use of e-mail, telephone, visits and other appropriate activities designed to move the student to enrolled status, all while working towards meeting individual and team enrollment goals
  • Work with high school applicants and assist through the application process
  • When appropriate, coordinate dialogue between the prospective students, schools and departments, Student Services and the Office of Financial Aid
  • Assist with all event management and preparation, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Freshman Admissions as necessary
  • Use data from previous years to assist supervisor in establishing travel plans for the assigned territory or area of responsibility
  • Evaluate application files and make recommendations for admissions
  • Assist with scheduling tours and other appointments
  • Assist with planning and coordination of visitations and open-house activities
  • Assist with office activities including: mailings, data entry, and file maintenance
  • Send directions etc to those visiting campus
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Knowledge and Job Skills

  • Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to sell effectively, honestly, and openly
  • Must be able to relate very well to prospective students of all ages, and where appropriate to their families
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized and display a high level of dedication to the University and to the task of selling the University to the public

 

Basic Expectations

  • Must provide the prospective students the highest level of customer service and support while abiding by the policies of Brenau University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Must arrive punctually (8:30 unless approved/assigned by supervisor)
  • Must dress professionally
  • Must use sick and vacation leave appropriately; comp time is not typically given
  • Must foster an atmosphere of positive teamwork

 

Environmental and Working Conditions:

Normal environment found in an educational setting. Some exposure to outdoors and varying weather conditions may be required.

 

Physical Demands and Aptitudes:

Some lifting and or carrying objects weighing 20+ lbs may be required. This position requires repetitive usage of arms, legs, eyes to include standing to a significant degree.

 

Work Hours:

40 hours per week.  Generally Monday-Friday from 8:30a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department.

 

Special Requirements:

Brenau University will conduct criminal background checks on all persons being considered for initial employment. In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Credit checks may be performed on employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. Due to insurance requirements, employees operating university vehicles must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver’s license, and good driving record. An MVR may be performed during the hiring process. All employees who operate university vehicles or who are employed in a sensitive position may be subject to post hire drug screening and random drug-screenings. All employees are subject to reasonable suspicion drug screening.
